◈ E-Filing System

IPC is the first one to use the E-Filing system in Taiwan. The E-Filing system of IP administrative action was initiated on July 20, 2015, and the system for civil action was put into use on August 8, 2016. After that, many other functions about electronic litigation documents were implemented into the systems. The parties and their agents may online file a lawsuit, request, appeal, counterappeal, transmit and receive the pleadings, etc. concerning civil and administrative litigation matters of IP.

◈ E-Court and File Scanning

To improve the efficacy of the trials, the IPC has established "E-courts" at the beginning of its establishment in 2008. The parties, agents, and affiliated persons (hereinafter “the aforementioned persons”) can use modern technology equipment to assist their offense and defense actions in the court. In addition, the courts traditionally stores paper-based documents and evidences. To facilitate the use, exchange and preservation of documents and evidences, as well as resource sharing, IPC promotes the electronic document system while using information technology to fully digitalized court documents and evidences.

Furthermore, if the aforementioned persons at remote locations and IPC all have equipment for mutual transmission of sounds and images, they may go to the designated locations while the court may conduct the interrogation in remote form. The remote interrogation is conducted in the form of "dual endpoint", which means the internet connection is only between the IPC and another court or prison.

In 2019, there was a breakthrough of a "multiple endpoint" remote interrogation. The IPC can now connect to four courts or prisons and display the court records and electronic documents simultaneously during the trial sessions. The new model of remote interrogation enhances the convenience of the aforementioned persons and promotes the accessibility of the judicial system.
